Madeline was persistent about hosting the grand family dinner this time for her pompous relatives. She set the table with five food trays covered by lids, designer napkins, utensils and her finest dishes. Madeline would supply the five-course meal. The guests were instructed to arrive promptly at six o’clock empty-handed.
Her grandmother had the honor of unveiling the first dish. This time they would eat their recent words. Her grandmother lifted the lid off of the first tray. All she found was a small piece of white paper. Her grandmother picked it up and read it. “Madeline disappoints us again.”
