April entered the elevator. “Raquel, where are you off to?” The button for floor thirty-one had been pressed.
Raquel rolled her eyes. “Maggie, who used to live on our floor, needs help moving a table. Promised me tea.”
April frowned. “A heavy table. She promised me tea.”
They exited the elevator and headed for Maggie’s apartment.
“Helping a neighbor?”
“I’m going to start helping people.” April informed her.
Raquel knocked on the door before twisting the knob. “Maggie!”
The door opened. There was no apartment inside. One cup of tea illuminated the darkness.
April retreated. “You can have the tea!”
