The 100 “Last”


So, last year I challenged myself to write a 100 word story for a contest. Sounds easy right? Not really. It’s a lot harder than you’d think it would be. You have to say the most with the least.

Here is my first story:


1 was waiting with 3 for 2 outside of the corner store.

They were supposed to meet there at 5 minutes past 4.

2 arrived off of the number 6 bus. 2 was 8 minutes late.

“You’re late. Look! 7 numbers in line ahead of us. I didn’t want to be last again,”stressed 1.

2 sighed. “It doesn’t matter.”

1 raised his voice. “Time matters.”

“It just doesn’t matter,” 3 voiced. “We do this routine everyday. You will always be last 1. The line up is 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Please, accept this.”
